Last weekend I met up with an old friend who I used to go to the lake with back home and we went out on the river for some waterskiing. I think it’s been like 6-7 years since i’ve really tried to ski. Definitely brought back memories of going out early and trying to get the “good water.”

PDX is weird alright. Everyone is driving super cautious and slow today. I think they are actually freaked out by too much sun. Like a stray sunbeam may send their car spinning out of control. Give it another 3 months and the first spot of rain will send people into a 10mph panic. Now I see why everyone rides bikes.

Copper Creek usually only gets enough water when it’s pouring rain…which only happens in the middle of winter…which means all there are usually no leaves on the trees…and can be a bit chilly…aka sometimes the road has too much snow to drive to the put-in…but yesterday was NOT that day.

75 degrees, sunny, a perfect amount of water, and a chance to go upstream 2 miles above where most folks can get into. Let’s just say Saturday was a good day.

So I have been throwing around the idea of planting a bunch of veggie type things in my little backyard area. (Mostly because it’s more difficult to plant hamburger and bacon.) After my ~~Super friendly~~ neighbor yelled at me for not weeding the section of yard between the sidewalk and street I realized I may not have the energy or patience to maintain a garden. Here I thought you just plant stuff and it grows…but if it’s like my front yard, where I have to weed around the things I’ve planted, I may need to reassess. (Hehehe, I said ass….5th grade moment)

Speaking of which, since my neighbor keeps complaining about my 2’x6’ section of noxious allergens…If you have any advice on a nice vegetable that could waft fumes causing violent sneezing I’m all ears?
