I was called up to do a little jury duty this week. Interesting process really, after getting your whole day’s schedule cleared. So I get called into the first pool of people for a case (basically lawyers vs car salesman) and the judge says, “So this case is going to last for 2 weeks.” As interesting as the process may be, I’m not sure it is THAT interesting. Of course everyone gripes and whines a little when they hear how long the case is going to be. I think the judge was a little unhappy with people trying to get booted. The first girl who said that she didn’t like some of the people and wasn’t sure she could be unbiased. BAM! sure enough she was selected for the final jury. The questions were funny though, “Has anyone ever had a negative experience with Lawyers or a Car Dealership?” Ha, you can imagine. So I decided to go the other route, a little reverse psychology. One of the folks in the trial was from Minnesota and they asked if we would be ok with someone from out of state. “Well I have a lot of family from Minnesota and know that pretty much everyone is awesome, so really think this guy must be trustworthy and awesome.” That threw the lawyers for a spin. So didn’t have to serve. Fhew
